Sign telling visitors why they should not step off of the paths at Yellowstone National Park-- paid for by a family that lost their son when he wandered onto unstable thermally-active ground.
Clearly, not everything avoids walking over this curious ground.
This bird seemed to be having a great time walking and pecking on this mat of extremophile (extreme condition loving) bacteria.
